CH6 Repeater ADL06 has been upgraded

Channel 6 ADL06 previously using a GME RP3600 repeater has recently seen an upgrade.

The GME was replaced because of poor sensitivity and poor adjacent channel rejection.
This was causing issues with some users experiencing access difficulties plus some noise interference.

The repeater and antenna system has also been replaced.

Just to be clear I have nothing agaist NB 12.K in itself. Yes a NB 12.5K transmission will sound fine on a NB 12.5K receiver.

BUT a 12.5K transmission will in fact sound quiet (or way low) on a 25K receiver. Anybody that says otherwise is incorrect or does not know what they are talking about.

Main simple reason is that a 25K radio will only “see” half the expected deviation on a 12.5K signal, hence about only half the sound level is recovered. Yes you can still hear the person’s modulation by cranking up the volume, and if nothing else it works so-so but far from optimum. But very not so-so if the receiving end happens to be in a noisy environment and raising the volume of the radio only helps to a certain point beyond which further raising will not increase sound level. And then while the radio volume is cranked way up and then someone comes in transmitting on 25K you’ll most probably be blasted. Specially if you where holding the radio close to your ear, or using a HS.
